Auburn House - Auburn Bay Community Centre Calgary, Alberta
The 'crowninq jewel' of Carma's newest lake community, Auburn Bay, is the thirteen acre resident's association, private park site located at the community's entrance. Jason Wilson assumed the role of prime consultant and lead designer for the site development and coordinated the projects various consultant groups.
Auburn House, as the site was named, was designed to function as a full service community park. The list of unique amenities includes a pristine three acre beach front an the shores of the fully stocked recreational lake, picnic facilities, a naturalized creek course and waterfall, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, trail and pathway systems, a fully automated interactive spray park and combined casual skating area. All enclosed in a master-planned landscape designed to emulate the Muskoka region of northern Ontario.

Kwachon Park, Nose Creek
Airdrie, Alberta

In recognition of Airdrie's Korean sister City. the Kwachon Park design was conceived as a unique and picturesque plaza set into Airdrie's Nose Creek Regional Park system. Though relatively small in overall scale, the Kwachon plaza is an integral focal element and central hub for the expansive open space and trail network contained within Nose Creek Park.
In plan view, the clever configuration of planters, varied surfaces and vegetation creates an impressionistic representation of a butterfly - the icon symbolizing the relationship between the two cities. Scott Wright took on the role of lead designer and project coordinator for the parks development. and worked closely with The City of Airdrie during both the design and construction phases of the project

REGIONAL PARK FACILITIES - Project

Panorama Hills Community Centre
Calgary, Alberta

Scott Wright was the lead designer and project manager for Genstar's Panorama Hills Amenity Site and community park facility. The site was intended to function as a community core for the surrounding area.

Scott's challenge was to incorporate a wish list of recreational amenities into a functional and aesthetically appealing park space. The list of important site elements included pathway systems, picnic nodes, volleyball and basketball courts, a water spray park and a naturalized creek and waterfall feature The surrounding landscape incorporated manicured and naturalized open spaces and a unique planting scheme.

Today, the Centre operates as a successful recreational and social hub for the Panorama Community.
